Peaceful Deer card

Image
So my husband & his brother have their birthdays just before Christmas, only 4 days apart, so my Brother-in-law's girlfriend, Nancy, asked me if she could over some day to make a handmade Birthday card for him, so she came over tonight to play.  She was at last Saturday's class, the first one I had since March 2020, and it was her first time making cards, she used to Scrapbook years ago, so I think we've got a new Stamper! Right Nancy??? LOL He's a hunter too, so we had to include a deer! lol  So I remembered a card I made with the Peaceful Deer bundle (I had cased from Susie Wood).  I added the picture below, so you can compare, and if you click on that card, it will take you to Susie's blog in case you'd like to see how she made that one!   I originally was gonna do one for Rocky too (my husband), but then figured it would be weird if they opened up their cards together at the party and find the exact same card! lol  So I'll make his later, so I deci

Sweet Little Stockings

Sweet Little Stockings As I was searching for ideas on Pinterest for an upcoming class, I found this cute Gift card holder by Jane Proffitt at Gal Friday Stamping  & thought it was adorable!  Click on her link to see her version. But since I only had one pack of the Sweet Stockings DSP at home, I knew I wouldn't have enough to cover a whole class if I used a full card front of that Pool Party design, so I decided to come up with a different idea. I stamped the little gifts & stars on a 4'' x 5 1/4'' piece of Pool Party CS , using Pool Party ink , and then embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder to add texture to it.  I then glued that on a Basic White card base 5 1/2'' x 8 1/2'' (scored at 4- 1/4'') The pocket was made using a die from the Sweet Little Stockings bundle .  I cut out a 2 1/2'' x 4 1/2'' piece of that lights DSP, cut out the pocket.  And then cut 1'' off from the top, flipped i

Marble technique I  wanted to make some kind of background for a card so that I could just use the big saying from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set, so I thought I'd go with the Marble technique, but I haven't done that in a long time, so I just searched a quick video by Stampin'Up! and gave it a try!  You will need shaving cream (Not shaving gel), some re-inkers, spatula & something to hold your shaving cream in.  I'm using a retired wood block case. To watch the video, click HERE The colors I started out with were Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana & Misty Moonlight. Then for the 2nd panel, I added BumbleBee and came up looking like this.  I really liked this one! And then I decided to add Magenta Madness.   Hope you give this 'Marble' technique a try with different colors & see what you come up with!  Thanks for stopping by! Joanne

Candy Canes Stamp set

This was one of the gifts I received in my Maui box when we had opted-out of the Maui incentive trip due to Covid19!  It came with many other cool products & gifts! So I finally dug it out to play with it last night, but if you know me, you hear me say how I'm more of a copier than a designer! lol Well I just happened to go back to a sketch challenge from a FB group and thought I would give it a try, so instead of DSP, I decided to stamp the Candy Canes stamp on a 4 1/8'' x 5 3/8'' Basic White cardstock, using Real Red ink. Then I cut the bottom off in a diagonal cut.  (Used the bottom piece inside my card) You can do the swirls 2 ways, either white on red, or red on white.   And then I made these other 2 cards which I cased from Pinterest, I'll put the link on each names so that they get the credit, plus you can find the products used.   For this card, I got the idea from a card made by the talented  Mikaela Titheridge .  I just stamped my greeting twice so
